How Dental Implants
Can Improve Your Life

Losing even one tooth can be very traumatic. We get it. We also understand how easy it was to take your teeth for granted before they were gone. Now, suddenly, even the most basic things in life like chewing, swallowing, enunciating your words, or laughing can feel impossible, uncomfortable, or downright embarrassing. Dentures don’t always solve these problems and can even add to the discomfort.

Dental implants are different. Titanium implant posts are surgically placed into your gums and the bone beneath where they fuse with the bone, essentially replacing your tooth roots. This not only creates the most amazingly sturdy support for prosthetic teeth or implant-retained dentures, it also keeps your bone stimulated. That means your teeth won’t slip or move around, you will look younger longer, and your gums will be healthier. Once the posts have healed in place, we will place beautiful, custom-designed that look and feel just like natural teeth. Many patients find that their smiles are even more beautiful than they were before!

Dental implants:

  • Never need to be removed for cleaning or nighttime soaking. Just brush and floss as usual!
  • Require no gooey adhesives to hold them in place!
  • Allow you to eat whatever you like including crunchy apples and corn-on-the-cob. You can even chew gum!
  • Keep your face from collapsing and your dental arch from shrinking because they stimulate your bone the way your toothroots did.
  • Let you get back to living fully, the way you did before you lost your teeth!

Dental Implant Options

  • Mini-Implants

Mini dental implants are a great alternative for people who have been told they might not qualify for traditional dental implants. Because the titanium post is smaller, it also usually requires less invasive surgery and can be placed in one convenient visit. Mini implants are precision placed where your bone is strongest and most dense. They keep that bone stimulated from the time of placement forward, stopping the progression of bone loss and giving you back a smile that feels like your own. Best of all, our mini-implant placement procedure is fast and comfortable.

  • Implant-Retained Dentures

If you have lost more than a few teeth or are currently wearing dentures, implant-retained dentures might be the alternative you have been hoping for. Implant-retained dentures are significantly different from traditional dentures in that they are attached to two or more implant posts.  That means they snap in, and allow you to eat and speak much more naturally with no slipping or pinching.

  • Implant Crowns and Bridges

If you’re only missing one or two teeth, the team at Northcutt Dental may recommend our tooth replacement option of a dental implant crown and/or bridge.  We will first conduct a thorough exam to make sure that you’re a candidate for an implant.  During this exam, we will discuss the entire procedure with you and will plan out the entire treatment process from start to finish.  If we decide that a single-tooth implant is the best option, we will schedule an appointment to surgically place the titanium post into your jawbone and allow a 3-6 month healing period.  Once the post has permanently bonding to the bone, our team will place the restorative crown onto the post, restoring your smile and your confidence!
